Extended Day Program
Mount Alvernia Academy's After School Program operates from 2:40 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. each day in the main school building. It is open every day that Mount Alvernia is in session. On half days, the program will run from 12 noon until 5:45 p.m. Parents may pick up their children at any time, but they must sign them out.
Enrollment is for the entire school year and is available for two to five days per week. A general after-school session will include arts and crafts, sports, homework time, outdoor play, and a snack. The Extended-Day Program is committed to providing a creative alternative for Mount Alvernia families for after-school care.
The program is committed to the development of the whole child---intellectually, socially, emotionally, creatively and physically.
Daily Program
After a nutritious snack, children will be given ample time for indoor and outdoor free play. Individual and small group activities such as arts and crafts, games, and team sports will be offered. Children will also be given the opportunity to do homework. Activities are intended to meet the child's need for recreation, cultural enrichment, understanding diversity, and will allow for individual choice. Special events and holiday celebrations are also included in this program.
Admission Procedure
Applications for enrollment are available in the main office or from the Extended-Day Program. A non-refundable, minimal registration fee must accompany the application. If space allows, enrollment will continue to be accepted throughout the school year.
An information form, which includes an emergency release authorization, must be submitted prior to your child’s first day in the program. This information form is in addition to the school form. A daily attendance record will be maintained.
Tuition
The fee schedule is based on nine monthly payments and you will not be charged for holidays and school vacations. Tuition is due on the first day of each month. Child care will be provided for enrolled children on all early-release faculty meeting days at no additional charge.
If you would like to send your child to Extended Day on a day that he/she is not scheduled to attend, you may do so if enrollment allows. Please contact the school for a schedule.
